Jefferson Parish– The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the start of $2.1 million project to widen US 90B from the base of the elevated expressway to Jung Blvd. beginning Wednesday April 3, 2019. A fourth through lane will be added on the median side in both directions of travel to improve the efficiency of the signalized intersection of US 90B and Westwood Drive.
The contractor, Barber Brothers Contracting, will be working Monday through Friday during the daytime hours. All existing lanes will remain open to traffic during morning and evening peak traffic hours. The project is estimated for completion by November 2019, weather permitting.
All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near an active work zone.
